Dear readers,

Let this humble writer bring you back to three decades ago. Back to the time when multi-colored swirly shirts were the "in" thing, back when drugs were sold like chocolate bars, back to the heydays of sexual revolution: contraception, gay rights and premarital sex.

Got you awake on that last one, didn't I? Unfortunately, I was kinda leading towards the popular career choice during those times, which according to a very reliable source (The Associated Press), was engineering. So, let's talk about the sexual revolution in another entry, shall we?

For you guys who've continued reading, let me try to enlighten you on why such a career trend 30 years ago. Aside from that cool "Engr." heading you get before your name, engineering (specifically mechanical engineering) was the profession of choice during that time because the 1970s marked the peak of industrial revolution. The construction of factories and massive machinery capable of mass-producing was of utmost necessity; thus, the high demand (and the relative high salary) of engineers.

Two decades after the era of sex, drugs and rock n' roll to just recently, the career trend had shifted to nursing and agribusiness. Whatever advanced, techie, medical apparati scientists have designed to better aid the people, patients seem to think that nothing beats good ol' human TLC. Agribusiness on the other hand, took a boom because of the recent biotechnological developments (plant tissue culture and GMOs).

Over the years, numerous forms of media have been developed: phone services, magazines, news ads, radio, and television; but, nothing has been more effective than the internet. The internet is your phone service, tabloid source, newspaper and entertainment center wrapped up in one convenient package. Probably the best American invention to date, the internet is the ultimate source of information.

Making a run for the "Most Popular Career Choice" nowadays is internet outsourcing. There has been a noticeable increase in the demand for advertisements and the media. You see, in the business game, the rules don't change, only the field and the players do. And the number one rule in business is the more people know about your product, the more chances of you selling it. In this generation we call the post-modern era (almost everything that needs to be invented has been invented, all scientists do now is make improvements), information is power.

The World Wide Web can be very useful for companies that are aiming to be on the top of their line of business. In fact, the internet can advertise everything from simple items to more advanced gadgets. Having a website of your own can do wonders for your business. With this, advertising is made easy and you can reach hundreds to thousands, to millions of audience around the globe. Good isn't it? But keep in mind, it is easy to have a website of your own but having a good and very dependable one is a different story. It is important to have a website that is well- developed and competitive to market your products thus hiring a professional that will work on your website should come in handy. In today's business, the Internet is one of the best weapons to outwit your competitors.

A large company that has wide array of products, web development teams can consist of hundreds of web developers, while smaller companies may only require a single but permanent one. This team will work round the clock to ensure and maintain the level of competitiveness of your web site, from topping the search engine results to page rank wars. This is all a part of the web developer's task, making your business available and easy to reach by customers around the world.

A website that is well developed is considered a good investment. Not only making your business available to the world, you can benefit from it as well.
